Heading into the Early Access release of , a new launch trailer for the game has given potential players a significant preview of what to expect. Originally announced in 2022, is the third game to be released by indie developer Heart Machine, and a prequel to the studio's 2016 debut title,. Despite being a follow-up to, however, differs significantly in terms of genre and gameplay, being an open-world, co-op roguelike with 3D action combat.
In preparation for the game's impending Early Access launch,a new trailer has been released on the Hyper Light Breaker YouTube channel, showing just over a minute of what players can expect in terms of combat, traversal, and exploration. Coinciding with the release of, the game will launch with a bundle at 10% off its standard Early Access $29.99 price tag, which will also include a free Steam code for for players who don't already own the preceding game.
In addition to the launch trailer, the lead-up to 's Early Access launch has seen a heavy increase in the game's pre-release marketing, with several videos on its YouTube channel detailing the game's three playable characters at launch, called Breakers, and two bosses, called Crowns. Players will be able to experience the game either in solo play or with up to two co-op partners, and the open-world environments will be procedurally generated to match the game's roguelike nature.
As an Early Access title, will receive regular updates leading up to its eventual full launch, with an Early Access roadmap set to be released within the weeks after the game's launch. Updates will include new Breakers, Crowns, and story and gameplay content — and ahead of the game's launch,it's already been confirmed that the release window of one new Breaker, codenamed «Crow» will be revealed after launch.
