HYBE IM has signed an agreement with Bonfire Studios, the Irvine-based studio founded by former Blizzard Entertainment developers, to publish its tentatively titled online team-based player-versus-player game Project Torch for PC in Japan and Korea, the company announced. Bonfire Studios will self-publish the game in the west.
Bonfire Studios was founded in 2016 by former Blizzard Entertainment chief creative officer and World of Warcraft lead designer Rob Pardo, former Blizzard Entertainment executive art director Nick Carpenter, and former Nexon America CEO Min Kim, among others, and has since secured approximately $25 million in funding from Riot Games and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.
