More than a million players earned the adorable Beta Wolf Pack reward while participating in the recent Diablo 4 early access beta. The animated cosmetic backpack serves no real purpose other than to give Diablo 4 players a fuzzy wolf puppy to carry around as they battle their way through the game. For many people, that’s probably all the reason they need.
The Diablo 4 early access beta was the first of two beta weekends planned for March and ran from March 17 – March 19. It was accessible for those who pre-ordered the game and, curiously enough, buying a Double Down sandwich from KFC could also net a Diablo 4 early access beta code, though that option was only available until March 18. The open beta, which runs from March 24 – March 27, will be available for everyone to check out.

The maximum level attainable during the Diablo 4 beta is 25, and those who strived and hit at least level 20 would get the coveted wolf pup cosmetic backpack. While some players may have been spurred just by the challenge of reaching max level in three days, others were undoubtedly motivated by the prospect of earning a fuzzy wolf pet. More than one million players, in fact, hit level 20 and snagged themselves the animated backpack that has a dark-furred wolf puppy sleeping while snugly wrapped in a red blanket.
Those who didn’t quite hit level 20 need not worry, however, because progress from the early access beta will carry over to the open beta the following weekend. Any titles earned and the wolf pack reward will carry over into the full release of Diablo 4 in June, though progress will not.
