A few Diablo 4players have been experiencing a worrisome issue while playing the beta version of the game: their GPUs are overheating. Blizzard is currently investigating the matter at the moment, as the beta testing of Diablo 4 continues.
Diablo 4 is one of the most hyped games of 2023. Announced back in 2019, the title appeared again when Blizzard revealed that Diablo 4’s early access beta testing was coming up. It’s been over 10 years since the rocky launch of Diablo 3, so players are eager to see what Blizzard has devised this time and are also hopeful to see a better launch. However, it seems that not everything as is smooth as it should be.

Now, a few unlucky Diablo 4 players are currently suffering from GPU overheating while playing the game. According to reports from Eurogamer, one Diablo 4 player claimed that he played it for only 20 minutes, and then his computer shut down immediately. After that, he touched his GPU and it was burning hot. Luckily, it was not damaged, but it shows that there is a real risk of burning the GPU right now.
Officially, Blizzard states that the development team is working closely with Nvidia to identify the hardware problem and sort this out as soon as possible. Unfortunately, despite recently releasing a few bug fixes for Diablo 4, there’s still no definitive answer to the problem.
While there is no official fix for the situation, some players are recommending that anyone trying out Diablo 4 should limit FPS to avoid these issues.
