Square Enix continues to claim the PS5 is the only system that can handle Final Fantasy 16, hence the game launching exclusively on the platform for an unspecified limited time. What exactly its creators mean by that has now become a little clearer as its director revealed just how integral the use of the PS5's DualSense will be when you're playing the next installment in the Final Fantasy series a few months from now.
PlayStation's DualSense boasts adaptive triggers and haptic feedback unlike anything else on the market, arguably features most studios haven't made the most of yet. It sounds a lot like that will not be the case for Final Fantasy 16 as Hiroshi Takai explained to PlayStation Blog that Square's highly-anticipated next game will be using those features to such an extent that players will be able to feel the air flowing through the game's cutscenes.

“We converted the sound effects used in each scene into haptic data, which let us portray details that we’ve never been able to before, like the movements of the air,” Takai revealed. Yes, if that's accurate, you will quite literally be able to feel the wind flowing through Clive's hair. If that doesn't make you feel alive then video games might not be for you.
Takai also mentioned moments throughout the game during which Clive will need to push open heavy doors and lift portcullises will be added to via the adaptive triggers, pulling players in to help them feel and understand how much effort needs to be exerted to progress.
