Diablo 4 has brought back an old standby of RPGs since the dawn of gaming. Skill trees have returned for each character class, with branching segments that require previous skills to be unlocked before going further down the branch. It’s larger and more extensive than Diablo 2’s skills, and also a big departure from Diablo 3’s skill-less system.
Fans that prefer Diablo 3’s way of thinking, which allowed players to change their build essentially on the fly, will be happy to know that Diablo 4 doesn’t put too many hurdles in front of a respecc. In the beta at least, players can respecc single skills for a small gold fee, or refund the entire tree for a slightly larger fee. It does get more expensive the more skills you have to refund, but it doesn’t seem to present itself as too big of a problem so long as you’re not respeccing every level.

And it seems like that generous respecc system will make its way into the final game. Speaking to a fan on Twitter (via PCGamesN), Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson confirmed the beta’s respecc system is "for sure going to ship in the launch."
That’s right, build-crafters: feel free to tinker to your hearts’ content. Diablo 4 is going to be respecc friendly.
What it won't be is friendly to offline players. Just like Diablo 3, Diablo 4 will not have an offline game mode even if they don't plan to use any of the game's online features. Although Diablo fans are still upset with this decision, the outcry seems somewhat more muted this time around than when Diablo 3 made the controversial decision to always be online over a decade ago.
Diablo 4 arrives on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on June
