One exciting new aspect that comes with the release of 's DLC,, is the addition of new Pokémon, including Poltchageist who can be evolved into Sinistcha. This new Grass/Ghost Pokémon can be found in one very specific location in the Teal Mask and has two forms, each of which requires a specific item to evolve it.
Though this new Pokémon may feel familiar to the Sinistea evolution line, it is not a regional variant of it. Poltchageist is an entirely new and separate Pokémon. Despite being different Pokémon, they do have one similarity which is that they have a Counterfeit Form and an Artisan (Masterpiece) Form.
First and foremost, players will have a rather hard time telling the Counterfeit Form and the Artisan Form apart as the only real difference is simply a small mark of authenticity on the bottom of the Artisan form. There is no real need for one or the other since they will battle exactly the same, however, the Artisan form is the rarer version, so it may be worth catching this Pokémon in DLC.
Poltchageist can only be found in one area of the Kitakami region, east of the welcome center, near the base of a waterfall. There will be a collection of bamboo near one of the Ogre Clan members where Poltchageist will be.
Though the Counterfeit and Artisan forms won't affect battling, they do have one other difference which is that they require different items to evolve them. The Counterfeit form will require the Unremarkable Teacup while the Artisan form will require the Masterpiece Teacup.
You can determine which form you have by reviewing the Pokémon after it is caught. The Unremarkable Teacup will be slightly easier to obtain as it is in a cave on the northwest corner of the map, the Paradise Barrens, that is wide open.
