Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is going to be a massive game, and now we have a better idea of how bigger the Eastern Continent will be, compared to the original game.
As shared on the ResetERA forums, a dedicated fan took the incomplete map seen in last week's Tokyo Game Show 2023 showcase, colored it, highlighted explorable locations like Kalm, Fort Condor, the Mythril Mines, the Chocobo Farm, and Junon, and put the original map side by side to highlight how much the Eastern Continent has been expanded. Interestingly enough, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's map doesn't even show the exact location of Midgar on the map, so some part of the Eastern Continent is missing from the current map.
That Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be a massive game is not surprising, considering Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed last week that the original game's map was recreated in a one-to-one scale for the second part of the remake project. Still, this continues to show the amount of care the developer is putting into what is likely to be one of the best games ever put out by Square Enix.
On a related note, Square Enix shared some additional details on how Red XIII will play in the upcoming game. With his unique Vengeance Mode, the character comes with a unique aggressively defensive fighting style that will set him apart from all other playable characters.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launches on February 29th on PlayStation 5 worldwide. You can learn more about the game by checking out Kai's hands-on preview.
