The Goldshard is one of the giant Kemonos players can hunt in , reminiscent of a porcupine. It is a vicious, Earth-attributed creature whose crystal spines fire and impale anyone not behind cover. If players can successfully hunt this Kemono, they can collect materials for the Veteran's armor.
Featured in the final preview for , the Goldshard's spines are its signature attack, launching them out of its back after leaping away from the player. If players can use their Karakuri shields or natural environment to block the spines, they can force the Goldshard to regrow the spines and buy themselves time to attack. The Goldshard also attacks with its claws, teeth, and tail, while occasionally rolling into a ball. Finally, it can enter into an enraged state, strengthening its attacks and exploding the field with crystals, making the Goldshard an exciting Kemono.
