Some people – and by that I mean lots of people, myself included – have encountered problems with the new DLC pack for Horizon Forbidden West. It seems the DLC will not download, and when you open the game you get a nice message explaining you have the DLC and but you need to wait for the pack to download. Except it’s not downloading.
Guerrilla are investigating the issue but you may be able to sort the problem out yourself
That does seem to work for some people, unfortunately not for me, at least not at first, I was stuck in a limbo where the game management screen shows that it’s installed but I can’t delete it or redownload it, and the game still says it’s not installed. However, in the 10 minutes or so while I have been typing this my PS5 has just notified me that the pack is now installed and I can confirm it now works! Woohoo!
You will be unsurprised to learn our review of Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will be delayed.
The blurb reads, “Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores sees Aloy pursue a sinister threat in the untamed wilds of Los Angeles, now a treacherous volcanic archipelago.”
Guerrilla continues: “Our creative vision for the Burning Shores is an ambitious expansion which will take Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles. It’s an overgrown and fractured city that can be fully explored via the water and flying on the back of a Sunwing. A massive machine threat lurks in its shadows – a huge challenge that Aloy must overcome by using all of her skills and abilities. To achieve this grand vision technically and creatively, we’ve made the difficult decision to focus all our efforts on making an incredible experience exclusively for the PlayStation®5 console.”
