It's been pointed out that Natty's questline in Hogwarts Legacy makes a lot more narrative sense if players choose to go with her to Hogsmeade early in the game. Hogwarts Legacy is an action-RPG, and like many other games in the genre, there's a big focus on player choice. Hogwarts Legacy players get to make all kinds of decisions throughout their adventure, with some decisions having more importance than others.
While Hogwarts Legacy's main story is fairly rigid, there are choices players can make that can impact their relationships and do have some genuine consequences. Some of these bigger choices happen in the various companion questlines that are in the game, with players getting a say in how things turn out for companions Natty (Gryffindor companion Natsai Onai), Poppy Sweeting (Hufflepuff), and Sebastian Sallow (Slytherin).

One of the earliest choices players have to make in Hogwarts Legacy is about who they should take with them on their visit to Hogsmeade. Players are given the choice between Natty and Sebastian. The story plays out pretty much exactly the same regardless of which character players pick, but as pointed out by Reddit user HighResPhotog, Natty's questline makes a lot more sense if she is the one to go to Hogsmeade with the player character.
If players choose to go to Hogsmeade with Natty, she has an encounter with villains Rookwood and Harlow at the Three Broomsticks. This better explains why Natty is so motivated to take down their criminal enterprise throughout Hogwarts Legacy. Without this initial interaction, Natty's questline doesn't hook players in quite the same way as the Poppy Sweeting or Sebastian Sallow quests.
