Hogwarts Legacy players have discovered a strategically-placed Dark Detector in Professor Fig's office. Dark Detectors are magical window-like items in the Wizarding World that are primarily used for identifying Dark Wizards.
Hogwarts Legacy features all manner of Dark Wizards for players to contend with throughout the game. While most of these enemies are fought in the game's open world in battles that take place well away from Hogwarts castle, the school isn't completely without Dark Wizards of its own. In fact, the player character in Hogwarts Legacy can basically become a Dark Wizard themselves by learning all three Unforgivable Curses and putting them to use.

Professor Fig, the Hogwarts Legacy player character's mentor, is prepared to find any Dark Wizards that may be hiding among his students. Reddit user drksdr pointed out that Professor Fig has a strategically-placed Dark Detector in his office that is set up in a way so he could look through it while entering his classroom from his office. Having one of these handy makes a lot of sense, especially when considering Professor Fig is actively at odds with the game's antagonists and is directly assisting the player character in researching their mysterious ancient magic abilities.
One would expect something like a Dark Detector to be found in Defense Against the Dark Arts instead of Professor Fig's classroom, but it seems he wants to be prepared for anything. This clever detail seems to have made fans like Professor Fig that much more. He's proven to be one of the more popular new characters to come out of Hogwarts Legacy since the game's release in February.
