Gamers have gathered together on social media to farewell one of Nintendo‘s cutest mascots. No, it’s not Mario or anyone in the Mushroom Kingdom (imagine if that actually happen before The Super Mario Bros. Movie was released). And no, it’s not Pikachu from the Pokémon franchise either. This mascot is very obscure in Nintendo’s history that the moment this character said its farewell, a core memory was unlocked by countless Nintendo users.
The mascot in question that got the internet crying is the orange shopping back from the Nintendo eShop. That’s right, that orange bag that you’d see whenever you want to purchase something on the 3DS or Wii U, that little virtual creature will no longer be seen again due to the recent closure of the Nintendo eStore for the two aforementioned consoles. And unfortunately, the Switch version of the eShop doesn’t have anyone to replace its presence.
To mourn this bag’s farewell, fans thanked the little orange bag for its time accompanying them throughout their early Nintendo days.

In a few hours, the eShops for the 3DS and Wii U will shut down for good, and with it the end of an era. The eShop bag goes for one last ride, thanking you for all your purchases. Now it's our turn to say thank you… for all the memories.
