The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer had several Marvel surprises, including a possible appearance by Black Panther. Marvel debuted its new Doctor Strange 2 trailer during Super Bowl LVI, and it includes several significant reveals about the film. In the new footage, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) seems to have problems with Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) fights across the Multiverse, and Ultron bots seemingly put Doctor Strange on trial. However, this trial appears to occur in front of Marvel's Illuminati, and Professor X (Patrick Stewart) is apparently part of the group.
Recasting Chadwick Boseman's character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is complicated. After Chadwick Boseman's tragic death in 2020, Marvel Studios initially said it wouldn't recast T'Challa. Instead, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler supposedly created a film to honor Boseman's legacy. However, since Marvel's initial decision, the idea of recasting the character has gathered more support, with fans thinking a new T'Challa can continue to inspire people everywhere. A petition to recast T'Challa has also received more than 50,000 signatures.
