Halo season 2 trailer teases even more fights to finish
We see you, Halo. Season 2 of Paramount Plus’ video game adaptation received its official trailer today and looks, dare I say, promising.
Earlier in December, Halo season 2 got a small teaser, which uses some of the shots in the trailer. Alongside the reveal was its release date, February 8th, and a YouTube release of the first season.
According to the YouTube description, in Halo season 2, “Master Chief John-117 leads his team of elite Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant. As humanity’s best hope for winning the war, John-117 discovers his deep connection to a mysterious alien structure that holds the key to humankind’s salvation, or its destruction — the Halo.”
The trailer shows a lot of action, which was a hit with original audiences. Personally, it does look more like an adaptation of the games than the first season, which I briefly watched. I did spy someone using dual pistols, a famous game mechanic introduced in Halo 2. Of course, we do see Energy Swords, a boat-ton of them, in one shot. There are some promising shots in the trailer, which gets me kind of excited to see this new season.
Despite Halo receiving mixed reviews, the viewership was record-breaking for Paramount Plus, easily prompting a season two renewal. Controversially, the show’s first episode had Master Chief take his helmet off (and he takes off more than just that). He still looks to have his helmet off this time, but it’s not as bothersome as before, personally.
