Greedfall 2 – The Dying World will hit Steam Early Access this summer
Spiders and Nacon have announced that GreedFall 2 – The Dying World will release first into Steam Early Access this summer. Check out the epic new trailer:
Following up on the cult hit original, which sold over two million copies, GreedFall II will revisit the continent of Gacane, which is facing a very different threat compared to the first game. Actually set three years earlier, you’ll play as a native of Teer Fradee who’s been taken to the coloniser continent against your will. This world is still being ravaged by the Malichor plague, though there’s plenty of different scheming factions at play as well. You’ll have to navigate this using diplomacy, cunnig and combat to try and regain your freedom and destiny.

Announced back in 2022, when Spiders were still polishing off their French Revolution soulslike Steelrising, it’s quite unusual for a game like GreedFall II to go down the Steam Early Access route. Then again, it worked out well for Baldur’s Gate 3, so it might help to have direct player feedback to shape the game’s later stages of development.
We gave the original version of the game 7/10 in our review. “Greedfall has an ambitious story, but it’s not backed up by the clearly repeated environments, simple combat and dull abilities that take ages to unlock,” said Gareth. “However, seasoned RPG players might well be able able to look past those flaws in favour of the interesting, well written stories about political manoeuvres and oppression that make up the bulk of the quests in this pretty dark, deep world.”
