A new Monster Hunter Wilds leak indicates that the game will be released in the first quarter of 2025 and that it will be the first fully open-world entry in the franchise. The Monster Hunter franchise has grown in popularity recently, and Monster Hunter Wilds seems to be an ambitious attempt to take the series to the next level.

Monster Hunter Wilds was originally revealed at The Game Awards last year. At the time, Capcom unveiled a trailer showcasing a realistic desert environment and some of the monsters that will appear in the game, but not much information about the title has been officially revealed since then. Now, however, fans of the franchise may have uncovered more details about the eagerly awaited action title.

According to a recent leak, Monster Hunter Wilds will be released in Q1 2025, and will be a fully open-world experience. The information comes from the Dusk Golem Discord server, and it’s claimed that Capcom is hoping that the new Monster Hunter will be a huge hit and “carry them for the whole fiscal year.” Fans have already theorized that Monster Hunter Wilds could be fully open-world, and this could be a game-changer for the franchise if confirmed. It’s likely that the new traversal mechanics showcased in the trailer could give players more freedom and improve exploration when compared to previous entries in the franchise.

Another interesting tidbit provided by Dusk Golem’s leak is that Monster Hunter Wilds will have “more experimental mechanics” than its predecessors and that they have received positive feedback from testers so far. Unfortunately, the leaker did not reveal what these mechanics were. The titanic Elder Dragon Zorah Magadaros is also said to be coming back in Monster Hunter Wilds. Zorah Magdaros was originally introduced in Monster Hunter World, and it became a very popular monster since then, so many fans will be pleased to face this boss once more.
