There’s a new Gravity Falls book on the way, and this time it’s all about everyone’s favorite evil and triangular demon, Bill Cipher. Creator, (and also the voice of Bill) Alex Hirsch, announced the project on Twitter, with a glitchy little teaser featuring the very demonic-looking book.
“Against all laws of physics, logic, and good taste,” he wrote, “Bill Cipher has somehow managed to write a book. This can’t be good. The Book of Bill invades book stores this July!”

In case you’re not familiar with Gravity Falls lore, Bill Cipher is the chaotic interdimensional demon bent on warping reality to his own whims, who serves as the main antagonist of the series. As twins Mabel and Dipper Pines explore the weird little town where their great-uncle lives, they find darker secrets pointing back towards Bill. The Book of Bill will be written from Bill’s perspective and will go into his own origins, as well as some embarrassing Pines family secrets.
But what really sets this book apart from the other Gravity Falls companion material is that it’s specifically intended for older audiences. The official age range on the Disney Books website has it listed as “adult,” while other Gravity Falls material usually sat at the “9-12” age range. Color me incredibly intrigued.
The Book of Bill is out in July. Both seasons of Gravity Falls are streaming on Disney Plus.
