Google is holding its Made by Google event event on Wednesday, Oct. 4, where the company says it will introduce the newest Pixel devices. As usual for any big phone launch, people are hyped for the next-generation Pixel. Will we see a flashy new design? Will we see the return of Motion Sense, the gesture recognition feature powered by radar? Will Google replace the camera bar with a camera tetrahedron?
Since everything seems to leak on the internet, there are a lot of reports out there espousing supposed details about the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. We've gathered the most reputable and likely reports here so you know what to expect come Google's big reveal.
The design of the new Pixel devices could look less boxy with the corners taking on a more rounded shape. Over on X (fka Twitter), a user by the name of @Android_Setting claims to have found an image from the Google Store website, which looks to be a Pixel device with rounded corners. Even more fun is that the image's alt text reads, "A person takes a call on a Pixel 8 Pro phone in Porcelain."
The device in that photo looks a lot like renders published earlier this year on MySmartPrice thanks to the ever-reliable OnLeaks. While the report incorrectly stated that the device may be unveiled at Google I/O, the potential Google leak gives the report more credence.
In July, a now-deleted Reddit post featured images of what could be the Pixel 8 Pro in the wild. Since this is the internet, nothing is truly deleted and the images were preserved over at DroidLife. This device also featured rounded corners like the Google image, so odds are we will see a softer side to the Pixel in October.
