A new Genshin Impact leak reveals more information about new map expansions that might arrive in the upcoming months. Developer HoYoverse keeps unlocking new parts of the map with every other update that arrives. The previous version 3.4 introduced a new desert region located in the western part of Sumeru.
At the moment, Sumeru is by far the largest region in the game and rumors claim that the upcoming Genshin Impact update 3.6 will expand the desert even further. There is a chance Sumeru becomes larger than all the three previous regions combined by the time the current Archon Chapter ends.

The world of Teyvat consists of seven different major regions, four of which are currently explorable in the game. According to previous rumors, the game's first region, Mondstadt, is uncompleted and its currently available parts of the map only represent around 60% of the whole region. A new leak on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit reveals more information about the upcoming map expansions. According to the post, the next major update will introduce a new part of Mondstadt alongside a new major region which is expected to be Fontaine. Many replies in the comment section claim that Mondstadt needs a complete overhaul as the whole region seems outdated compared to Sumeru and Inazuma.
Fans claim that every other region in the game does a much better job when it comes to representing its symbolic element.
