Final Fantasy 16 has received a new trailer showcasing Valisthea and more story and combat footage at PAX East 2023. Of course, that’s not all. Square Enix also revealed some raw gameplay, highlighting the game’s 4K and Frame Rate modes and one of the major regions. Check it out below at 30:20 and 1:00:15.
By traversing the market, we see different vendors, including one that sells weapons and the Blacksmith who upgrades them. There’s also the Arete Stone for accessing the Hall of Virtue, a training area; Arcade Mode for replaying previous stages to earn a high score; and Stage Replay, which allows for revisiting levels at your current level.
Later footage sees Clive, Torgal and Jill battling against a Storm Panther, and we get to see one of the Timely Support Accessories in action. The Eikon battles are even more involved, with Ifrit battling Typhon and Titan. Some include entities like Titan Lost and Eikon of Fire, the latter playing out as a shoot ’em-up stage.
Final Fantasy 16 is out on June 22nd for PS5. A demo will be available two weeks before release. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
