Frostpunk 2 is the sequel to one of the most morally conflicting strategy games on the market, and it looks like more tough choices are on the horizon. It's coming first to PC and Xbox Series X|S on 25th July but has been pledged for PS5 sometime after. Courtesy of IGN, we got an extended look at 11 Bit Studios' bleak survival city builder.
Players must decide between the lesser of many evils to survive the next storm, following ideological technology trees to their logical conclusions. With manpower in short supply, will you enlist child labour to meet demand? What's the most effective way of repressing an unruly population, direct force or religious subversion?
Where Frostpunk tasked players with keeping a population of incredibly fragile people alive in the face of a world-ending global weather event, Frostpunk 2 is set some 30 years later. The world is still covered in frost, but the most significant threat this time is other survivors scrambling for slim resources and your own increasingly democratic people. Check out the trailer below for some of the flavour that makes the series so special.
