The genre-defining card game Dominion is now available as an Android, iOS, and PC app. Released physically in 2008, it’s the first modern deck-building game, distinct from collectible card games like Magic: The Gathering. Players can now experience this massively influential game for free on their PC and mobile devices.
Developer Temple Gate Games announced the Dominion app in May 2021, with the game finally launching last week. The base version includes 26 Kingdom cards, three Victory sets, and three Treasure sets. For those unfamiliar with the game, Kingdom cards allow players to customize their decks at the start of each match. Meanwhile, Treasure cards provide Coins, which players use to buy cards from the common Supply deck. Finally, Victory cards, as the name suggests, provide points toward winning the game.
In addition to the free Base cards, Dominion app players can purchase expansion packs to increase their options. There are 15 expansion packs in all, and they range in price from $4.99 to $10.99 each. That’s a significant chunk of change for players who want the complete collection. However, it’s still a major discount compared to the physical cards. Not to mention that the base version includes hundreds of cards for free.
Other features of the Dominion app include support for solo-play, which obviously isn’t an option with the physical cards. Meanwhile, the app supports cross-platform multiplayer between Android, iOS and PC.
Fans and newcomers alike can grab Dominion from Google Play, the App Store, and Steam. Also, make sure you check back later for our upcoming review here on Hardcore Droid.
