Retro-indie-focused publisher Rock It Games announces establishment
California-based Rock It Games has announced its establishment as a new game publisher focused on supporting independent developers, with a mission to offer a diverse portfolio of curated titles that capture the essence of retro gaming while embracing the spirit of the independent games community. The company aims to release up to 10 physical games in 2024, along with additional digital releases.
The company’s first two games are:
- Space Invaders Deck Commander – The Board Game (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC) – Licensed by TAITO and developed by Sickhead Games. A brand-new entry into one of the best-selling games of all time with a new genre for fans to enjoy and be challenged by. Launches this summer.
- Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion: HD Renovation (PlayStation 5, Switch) – Developed by Albino Moose Games. The first-ever physical and PlayStation 5 release. Launches this spring. Currently available digitally for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam.
“It’s been a lifelong dream to create a gamer-centric publisher like Rock It Games,” said Rock It Games CEO Michael Devine in a press release. “We are dedicated to providing a platform for indie and retro game developers to showcase their creative genius to players who love the nostalgia of retro gaming and freedom of creatives that only indies provide.”
