Fortnite's Latest Battle Pass Is The First In 11 Seasons Without A Crossover Skin
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is finally here and, interestingly enough, its battle pass is comprised entirely of original skins - those are Renzo the Destroyer, Imani, Thunder, Mystica, Stray, Highwire, and Mizuki.
The only exception to this is Eren Yeager, but they're not part of the main battle pass as crossover skins have been. They're a mid-season skin, which will be available on April 15, that will likely be unlocked in a similar vein to Geralt. This means that, for the first time since Chapter 2 Season 1, there are no crossovers in the main battle pass line.

For context, Geralt had his own quest page and, upon completing all of those quests, you would then unlock him. You still needed to have the battle pass purchased, but he wasn't actually on it. Eren Yeager and other Attack on Titan crossover skins may follow suit, potentially ushering in a new way of earning crossover cosmetics.
The first-ever crossover cosmetic to appear in the Battle Pass was Marvel's Deadpool in Chapter 2 Season 2. He also appeared as a boss fight who, when defeated, would drop Dual Hand Cannons. The second addition was DC's Aquaman in Chapter 2 Season 3, before Fortnite went full-throttle with a Marvel-themed Battle Pass in Chapter 2 Season 4.
Since then, each Battle Pass has been laden with crossovers, earning Fortnite its reputation for being filled to the brim with other IPs. That hasn't stopped, and this season won't move away from that, made evident by the Attack on Titan announcement. However, the Battle Pass is more akin to the older, original style, focusing on Fortnite's own creations and aesthetic.
