Dataminers have revealed an unreleased weapon that Fortnite's development team is currently playtesting, a new DMR. Fortnite fans are probably familiar with this weapon type, which has seen different iterations added in the past.
Previously,Fortnite has added a Thermal DMR, standard DMR, Tactical DMR, and more, although all of them are currently vaulted. DMRs are usually semi-automatic, long-range weapons that are a bridge between the assault rifle and sniper rifle classes. However, some DMRs, like the standard one, had pretty decent hip-fire accuracy for a weapon of its nature, making the gun an all-around tool in the right hands if no other weapons were available. Fortunately for DMR fans, the stats of Fortnite's next iteration of the weapon have just been leaked.
Fortnite dataminer Hypex posted a tweet that revealed the next DMR's details. It comes in five rarities with each rarity's damage being 58, 61, 64, 67, and 70. Each rarity's build damage is 63, 67, 70, 74, and 77, and its headshot damage is 102, 107, 112, 117, and 123. Furthermore, the unreleased DMR has a reload time that ranges from 2.8 seconds to 2.1 seconds based on its rarity, a clip size of seven bullets, and a fire rate of 1.5. However, the dataminer emphasized that these stats could slightly change before the new weapon is released. Another dataminer, FN_Assist, shared an image of a DMR that was originally expected to be released this season, which could be the DMR in question. However, this is only speculation.
The new DMR might be added with the launch of Fortnite's next season following the conclusion of Chapter 5 Season 1, which ends on March 8. Fortnite's next season is rumored to have a Greek mythology theme and will likely introduce additional items or mechanics.
Recently, the same dataminer also revealed that Fortnite might be releasing a new iteration of the Tactical Shotgun. Its leaked stats feature a smaller magazine, slightly increased damage, slower fire rate, and shortened reload time.
