A new leak of information about Fortnite suggests that new content based on the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are arriving soon. As with other Fortnite crossover content, the Avatar additions will likely consist of themed cosmetic skins and accessories players can equip when playing.
Since its 2005 debut on Nickelodeon, the Avatar: the Last Airbender series has gone on to be one of the most beloved American animated series of all time. Its story follows the young airbender Aang as he struggles to fit into his role as the fabled Avatar — a powerful individual with the ability to manipulate all four elements and bring together the different nations of the world. Long past its original airing, the series has received a sequel, The Legend of Korra, as well as spin-offs into other media. It's even received multiple live-action adaptations, the most recent being Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix.
The existence of the Fortnite x Avatar crossover was first leaked by data miners in late February, but the leaks didn't include a firm release window besides the current Fortnite season, titled «Myths & Monsters.» A new post from Twitter user ShiinaBR suggests that the upcoming Avatar crossover content may be coming as soon as the week of March 25, 2024, starting with a skin based on Korra, protagonist of The Legend of Korra.
ShiinaBR's post suggests that the Korra skin confirmed for Fortnite earlier in the season will launch with an upcoming update scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Players will then be able to unlock the Korra skin and other Korra-themed cosmetics via the Fortnite Battle Pass. Meanwhile, cosmetics based on Avatar: The Last Airbender may launch around April 9, 2024. This timing suggestion is based on the general length of Fortnite event passes, which typically last several weeks.
