The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is not getting a proper remake anytime soon, leaving it to fans of the long-running series to reimagine locations from the iconic game using modern technology.
One of these fans is YouTube user Leo Torres, who has been recreating cities from the popular game using Unreal Engine 5. Their latest recreation is a recreation of Falkreath made using Unreal Engine 5.3.2 and some of its features, such as Nanite, which was used for all models and foliage, and hardware Lumen for global illumination and reflections. NVIDIA DLAA was also used to improve visual quality.
While The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has yet to be properly remade, the fifth entry in the series by Bethesda was remastered back in 2016 with the Special Edition, which featured some visual enhancements, new content, and all of the DLC released for the original version of the game. The Anniversary Edition was also released in 2021 to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary. The latest edition of the game, which requires the Special Edition, includes Creation Club content released on or prior to November 11 2021 such as quests, bosses, weapons, spells, and more.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Switch.
