ASUS has come under a huge fire due to its RMA policies which ask for outrageous costs to repair minor issues & sometimes, you won't even have your original case solved but the company points out several other issues with your purchased products that weren't there to begin with.
AIBs are in trouble nowadays, especially regarding customer warranty services. Previously, we disclosed an incident between a customer with an RMA request and Manli, where the company refused to accept a refund request even though the GPU did comply with all legal terms disclosed by the company and the respective distributor. This time, ASUS has denied customer servicing, which is shocking because the firm is known to be the top manufacturer in the PC space.
The news comes from the Redditor, Mulgoki, who bought ASUS's GeForce RTX 4090 ROG STRIX WHITE OC, which was working perfectly fine, but he realized that the plastic on the power connector was scratched out for no reason.
As a precautionary measure, the user approached ASUS's RMA, as advised by the local store where he bought the GPU. However, to his surprise, customer services gave him a quote of a whopping $3758 just to repair the plastic indent and bear in mind that the GPU was delicate and almost a brand new unit.
Adding onto the surprise, when his RMA case was escalated, ASUS categorized the GPU as "not functional" and even said that the damage wasn't covered under warranty. However, the company did provide 30% advice to the original quote, but despite that, their prices were hilarious for a GPU, which cost the customer around $2,799.
