New details have emerged indicating that Loki season 2 will undo the biggest twist from its season 1 finale — but Marvel Studios has a good reason for this. Filming has started for the Tom Hiddleston-led show's season 2. While Marvel Studios is characteristically being mum about details regarding Loki season 2, set images and videos have surfaced providing new information on what to expect when the God of Mischief returns to Disney+.
Throughout Loki season 1, the villain turned anti-hero met new friends, including Mobius (Owen Wilson), a Time Variance Authority (TVA) agent, which whom he developed a brother-like bond. At the end of Loki, it was revealed that the God of Mischief was instead sent to an alternate iteration of the organization personally managed by He Who Remains' (Jonathan Majors) more ruthless variant, Kang the Conqueror, where he met a different version of Mobius — one who does not know who he is. This was a clear launching pad for what comes next for the God of Mischief, with season 2 immediately confirmed.

Loki coming in contact with a different Mobius and separated from the original one would have forced him to tackle the looming disaster from the multiverse going haywire alone. It seems like that's no longer going to be the case, however, as this particular plot twist has been reversed already. Based on the new Loki season 2 set images, Loki and Mobius reunited. Both are wearing tuxedos and attending a formal function. The photos imply that the characters have somehow re-teamed up, which effectively undoes the Loki season 1 finale and its biggest plot twist.
