This means that viewers will learn more about The Big Bang Theory's socially inept genius' childhood in Texas including his evolving relationship with the rest of his family.
With just two months to go before CBS' premier sitcom returns with fresh episodes, Young Sheldon season 6 filming has quietly started. After the coronavirus pandemic disrupted the sitcom's schedule in the last couple of years, the show is back to its regular season premiere timeline, with Young Sheldon season 6 set to start in late September 2022. Much of what can be expected in the new year was set up Young Sheldon season 5, especially with Georgie's pregnancy arc and the crumbling marriage between George and Mary. As for Sheldon, the boy genius will continue with his college adventures and deal with his sometimes unique growing pains.

With Young Sheldon season 6 now in production, the first image of Sheldon Cooper has made its way online thanks to show producer Ansley Rix. The snap was shared on her Instagram story and reveals a more grown-up Sheldon back in church with Missy and Mary. Check out the photo below:
Raegan Revord previously shared an image that indicates Young Sheldon season 6 will see the Coopers' return to church, but this is the first time that some characters are shown for their upcoming return. Based on Zoe Perry's mask, it seems like this was taken in between breaks, with Revord and Armitage laughing at something. This image, however, seemingly makes Armitage look much bigger
