Fire Mage First Impressions: Sunfury Hero Talents
Sunfury is now playable on The War Within Alpha. This is the shared Hero talent for Fire and Arcane Mages.
What is Sunfury?
Sunfury is the last hero talent revealed for Mage, and arguably the most exciting. No NPC embodies the concept of Sunfury more than Kael'thas Sunstrider and his followers. Prince Kael'thas is heavily associated with the Phoenix, a mythological firebird with the power of Rebirth. Every time we strike him down he somehow comes back into the story.
This «Hero Spec» revolves around generating Spellfire Spheres and summoning an Arcane Phoenix to consume these spheres to deal incredible amounts of damage with powerful Arcane and Fire spells. It also empowers Phoenix Flames to call down storms of Meteorites, and has access to a stun with Gravity Lapse. Sunfury adds an incredible amount of burst to Fire Mage and helps move it away from being an uptime spec with a flat damage profile. Sunfury also adds a lot of visual flavor to Mage.
