Final Fantasy XVI director Hiroshi Takai revealed at this year’s PlayStation Partner Awards that two DLC episodes are on the way for the game.
The episodes will focus on protagonist Clive’s story, giving players the opportunity to not only learn more about the world of Final Fantasy XVI but also experience the “darkness” and “mystery” of Clive’s story.
It’s not all story in these new episodes. Takai ensures fans that the upcoming DLC will also offer new strong enemies and elements to make battles even more challenging.

Final Fantasy XVI is available now on the PlayStation 5. XVI’s producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed that a PC version was in development in an announcement made at Square Enix’s “Voices from Valisthea” panel at this year’s PAX West in Seattle. No further details are available on the PC version, but in Yoshida promised that more would be shared before the end of the year.
