Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth infamously underperformed on PS5 despite widespread critical acclaim, though it seems to be enjoying better success on PC. Square Enix’s open world action RPG launched for Steam late last month, and as early player numbers suggested, the game seems to have got off to a quick start from a sales perspective.
That’s as per Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, who revealed on BlueSky that in the week that it launched for PC, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth topped bestselling charts across physical and digital tracked data in the US. What’s more, third in the charts for the week was the Final Fantasy Remake and Rebirth double pack that is also being sold by Square Enix. Clearly, the game is attracting a healthy audience on the platform.
Leaks have claimed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and its predecessor are both also headed to Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2, which should presumably mean consistently growing sales for the duo for some time to come.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is currently available on PS5 and PC.
