One Final Fantasy fan thought that Final Fantasy 7 Remake had been updated with a hint towards Rebirth, but it turns out their toddler had just broken the TV by chucking a toy at it.

Following the announcement of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth during the 25th anniversary stream, Twitter user FFVIINovels shared a video recording of their screen, which shows the title screen of Final Fantasy 7 Remake engulfed by a red glowing circle that surrounds Cloud's sword. They shared the video with the caption, "Holy heck, and now this Rebirth colour effect has been added to the title screen when you boot up Final Fantasy VII Remake", where they were met with other Final Fantasy fans claiming that it hadn't happened to their version of the game and that it must be some kind of monitor issue.
FFVIINovels replied by saying that they were going to upload footage from their PS5 directly to prove that it wasn't the monitor, before quickly realising what had happened. As it turned out, it was a monitor issue and one that was caused by their toddler throwing a toy at the screen, "Folks, I’m so sorry. False alarm. Turns out my toddler has thrown a toy at my TV, both damaging the screen and sending the FFVII community into meltdown".
