announced its newest roster addition to. A new trailer reveals Gato as a playable character for the upcoming fighting game.
Gato made their debut in the Fatal Fury series in 1999’s Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves. In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, the powerful martial artist joins the KOF tournament to take revenge on his father, Gao. Here is the official description for Gato:
“A man determined to settle the score with his father, Gao, after nearly being blinded by him in the previous tournament. Gato has (for the most part) recovered his sense of sight since the vicious attack; however, after realizing that very sense is what makes his movements sluggish, he now willingly fights in complete darkness. Hearing news of the upcoming KOF tournament, the vengeful Gato once again enters the fray—indeed, with nothing but his father in his sights.”
Gato will be voiced by Yuma Yamaguchi (Japanese), and Cory Yee (English). Yee has been in numerous video games and TV series throughout the years, such as Genshin Impact, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture.
SNK first revealed Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves back in 2022, albeit without the full title. It was formally revealed earlier this year showcasing a fight between returning fighters Rock Howard and Terry Bogard. Since then, several other playable characters have been revealed. This includes Vox Reaper, Billy Kane, and B. Jenet.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is scheduled to launch on April 24, 2025 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Preorders for the Special Edition are available now for $59.99. This includes the base game, Season Pass 1 (includes five DLC characters), Fatal Fury 2 Terry DLC costume, and 3 days early access (April 21, 2025).
