The Fallout festivities continue. With Amazon Prime’s Fallout show having got off to an impressive start (and a second season already having been grenlit), the Fallout games, too, have been enjoying significant boosts in sales. That’s likely to continue for the foreseeable future, with Fallout 4’s long-awaited Next-Gen Update out now.
Chief among the update’s headlining changes is the game releasing natively for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. On the new consoles, the RPG touts a Performance Mode, which runs at a dynamic 4K resolution and 60 FPS at standard settings, and a Quality Mode, which runs at a native 4K at 30 FPS (40 FPS for those with a 120Hz display) at ultra settings.
Meanwhile, on PC, the game has added support for widescreen and ultra widescreen resolutions, while the update also brings several bug fixes and stability improvements across all platforms. New Creation Club content has also been added, including a quest, new weapons, and new weapon and armour skins.
Finally, on PC, the game is now also purchasable via the Epic Games Store, while it has also become Steam Deck Verified, which means it’s now fully optimized for Valve’s portable device.
