Codemasters has released the latest video for F1 24, showcasing 13 minutes of raw gameplay across five of the circuits, giving a broad sample of the game’s racing credentials. F1 24 will launch on 31st May 2024 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Kicking off with a wet Spa-Francorchamps, fans will be pleased to see that the new grandstand overlooking Eau Rouge has been added in a track update. There’s then both wet and dry racing in the tight and always challenging streets of Monaco, a visit to Silverstone for qualifying, night racing at Lusail, and then some mixed conditions at the recently raced Shanghai.
The video also jumps back and forth between viewpoints and camera angles, giving a good look at how the game will appear in your preferred camera settings, and at the new speedometer UI – what do you think of this?
We’ve had a couple previews of F1 24 in the last week. Another thing you might have picked up on through the video is how the cars look while they’re racing with a brand new suspension kinematics system to dramatically improve how realistic the game looks as cars go through corners. Codemasters has paired this up with a new tyre model that will better take into account temperature and conditions, more in-depth ERS deployment and harvesting options for players, and more. The proof will be in actually playing the game, but it sounds promising. Read all about that in our F1 24 preview here.
Then there’s the overhauled career mode that will let you step into the shoes of a real world F1, F2 or historic driver and then race as them through multiple seasons of the sport – in addition to the existing custom driver and MyTeam mode – Codemasters are improving the career with new secret negotiations, real driver VO, smaller in-race objectives and more. There’s also a new Challenge Career that will appear in F1 World. For more details ready our other F1 24 preview.
