Samsung’s Exynos 2400 was on a roll, especially in the gaming performance category, when it could effortlessly run Genshin Impact at a steady 60FPS without displaying a hint of stuttering. However, several details were not shared then, such as the image quality and resolution, which can make or break your framerate in this demanding title. Sadly, the chipset may not be able to run the game at the highest visual settings without sacrificing performance, but fortunately, the blame cannot be directed at Samsung, as you will soon find out.
In a clip shared on X that is just a little over a minute long, @GaryeonHan points out that the reason why the Exynos 2400 can run Genshin Impact at a steady 60FPS is because the game’s texture resolution appears to have been set to low. This would have been disappointing, especially when the Xclipse 940 GPU that is a part of the chipset is based on the newer AMD RDNA3 architecture.
However, the positive outcome is that the Exynos 2400 is a relatively new release from Samsung. This means that Genshin Impact developers have not had sufficient time to play around with the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus that feature the Exynos 2400, so they can optimize it to run the game at a higher image quality.
The discussion in the thread also mentions that the lack of optimization is causing the game to run at a lower resolution, so future updates might improve image quality. The Xclipse 940 GPU also heavily relies on the Vulkan API, so it is possible that Genshin Impact developers might be hesitant to switch over.
