In case you didn't know, Anime Expo 2023 kicks off this weekend, running from the 1st July to the 4th July. The Los Angeles event will play host to a number of companies relevant to PlayStation, including Bandai Namco, SEGA, Atlus, NIS America, Spike Chunsoft, and Cygames.
Especially in recent years, Anime Expo has proven to be a great opportunity for anime-based titles to share new information, trailers, and even release dates. As such, it's highly likely that we'll be getting some fairly important updates on a number of upcoming projects. We will, of course, be covering all of the relevant news here on Push Square.
So, what can we expect? Well, for starters, Bandai Namco's doing a 'Summer Showcase' on the 1st July at 4:30 pm PT / 12.30 am BST. Games like Sand Land and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections are probably locks, but could we also glimpse more of Blue Protocol or maybe Tekken 8? We'll have to wait and see.
That's really the only 'show' that Anime Expo will have to offer, but SEGA and Atlus have been pushing panels on the Like a Dragon series, as well as Persona 5 Tactica and Persona 3 Reload. New trailers or gameplay details? Perhaps.
Likewise, NISA's got a Disgaea 7 panel, and Cygames will be promoting both Granblue Fantasy: Relink and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. The two Granblue games are still on track to launch this year, so release dates aren't totally out of the question.
