Storm Reid, perhaps best known for playing Gia Bennett in Euphoria, has been cast as Riley Abel in HBO's The Last of Us.
HBO's The Last of Us has been granting some wishes with its casting choices, ranging from Pedro Pascal as Joel to Belle Ramsay as Ellie. Since the initial casting announcement for the main two characters, we've also seen Gabriel Luna join as Tommy, Anna Torv take up the role of Tess, Nico Parker as Sarah, and Nick Offerman as Bill. Whew, that's a star-studded cast.

Just in case you thought that The Last of Us needed any more star power, Storm Reid confirmed that she has been cast as Ellie's best friend, Riley Abel. Reid announced the news on Twitter, saying, "I got some NEWS. Beyond excited to join the cast of The Last Of Us as Riley on HBO. Let’s get to work. 2022 looking bright already."
Storm Reid is best known for playing Gia Bennett in Euphoria but has also been in The Suicide Squad, The Invisible Man, and A Wrinkle In Time. Alongside the Tweet, Reid shared a piece of fan-art featuring Riley. Interestingly, the art has the HBO version of The Last of Us logo, complete with the Firefly logo as a rising sun within the text.
Earlier in the week, new set footage from The Last of Us that showed a shopping mall had some fans speculating that filming was currently underway for flashback scenes featuring Riley and Ellie, which were originally showcased in the Left Behind DLC. Although Riley wasn't confirmed to appear in the show at that point, we now know with certainty that we'll be seeing her.
