Epic Games Store users can currently claim Windbound until Thursday, February 17. Epic Games Store’s Windbound giveaway will end then at 10 am CT and be replaced by Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. While, arguably, this is another “small” game that EGS tends to emphasize, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons received critical acclaim upon release and really is a must-play.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Suns is a unique game, one largely contributing to the “video games as art” world, and it’s obvious why. Its story and gameplay speak volumes about its unique approach to the industry, while still being pretty open. Indie lovers and fans of Josef Fare’s It Takes Two will more than likely enjoy the game, but it’s an easy recommendation for anyone.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons focuses on the story of Najee and Naia, two brothers, as they embark on a journey across a firmly-rooted fantasy world, while trying to find a cure for their father. Players will encounter everything from orcs and trolls to bullies, aggressive dogs, and wolves. In all of this is an important story about family, overcoming fear, doing what one must, and overcoming grief. It’s incredibly potent and will be an emotional rollercoaster for anyone playing it for the first time on the Epic Games Store.
Interestingly, though, it’s worth mentioning players shouldn’t expect a typical story delivery. All dialogue and story in Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is a fictional language, meaning players are open to interpretation in various ways as the story is shown through action, gestures, and facial expressions other than vocalized communication.
