The Epic Games Store gives out free games on a weekly basis, and the program is continuing in 2022. Every Thursday at the same time--8 AM PT / 11 AM ET--Epic gives up between one and three free games. You merely need to create a free Epic account and enable two-factor authentication to start snagging freebies. At this point, Epic has given away well over 100 free games, and there's no sign that the program will stop any time soon. Brothers was the first game directed by Josef Fares, who went on to lead development on A Way Out and It Takes Two, one of the best games of 2021. Brothers — A Tale of Two Sons planted the seed for those cooperative-only games. While it's actually a single-player game, players control both of the brothers, mimicking co-op with a single-player control scheme. It's a neat concept that works well. With a well-written story, clever puzzles, and fun boss battles staged across a compelling world, Brothers — A Tale of Two Sons is well worth checking out.
Starting February 24, you can claim Cris Tales, a stylish JRPG that released last summer. This turn-based RPG nods back to old-school games in the genre. It plays with the concept of time in some neat ways and features a number of memorable characters. It earned an 8/10 in our Cris Tales review.
