The Epic Games Store is one of the few platforms that offers truly free games with no strings attached beyond users needing to use the Epic Games Store launcher. Epic Games Store users are treated to a new free game every week, with the free games rotating in at 10am CT on Thursdays.
As of Thursday, February 17 at 10am CT, Windbound is no longer an Epic Games Store free game and has been replaced by the critically-acclaimed Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Anyone interested in checking out Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons has until next Thursday, February 24 at 10am CT to claim the game for their digital library, as that's when it will be removed and replaced with the next free title.
Epic is Aware of Achievement Syncing Issues on Epic Games Store
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is the first game developed by Josef Fares, who recently won the Game Award for Game of the Year for his latest game, It Takes Two. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons differs from Fares' other games in that it doesn't have co-op. However, it still is clearly a game made with cooperation in mind, with one player controlling two characters to complete objectives and advance the story.
Fans of Fares' work on A Way Out and It Takes Two should enjoy Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, so they should be sure to claim it while it's free. In the meantime, next week's free game is an indie RPG called Cris Tales that originally released in July 2021, making it not even a year old yet. The Epic Games Store free games tend to be older titles, so it's nice to see a relatively newer game added to the free games lineup.
