The long-awaited Dying Light 2 has finally arrived. Like in the first Dying Light, a major appeal of this title comes from its complex parkour system and open-world environment. One Dying Light 2 player recently drew attention to the fact that gamers can use the parkour mechanics to make protagonist Aiden Caldwell trip.
Dying Light 2 takes place in a massive European city called Villedor, which acts as the last bastion of modern civilization in the face of a zombie apocalypse. The game also features a fresh take on the Infected, though it still seems leery of calling them zombies. However, for some gamers, the parkour mechanics and the ability to sprint and leap all over Villedor are a bigger draw.

Redditor GetBcckGrey shared a short video of themselves playing the game specifically to highlight Aiden tripping. According to them, dodging backward three times will cause Aiden to fall over backward and stay down for about a second. This little feature not only shakes up the rhythm of combat but also adds more personality to Aiden Caldwell as a protagonist.
Apparently, this isn't the only way players can prompt Aiden to trip--he can also be knocked off his feet by dodging three times in any direction. In other words, every third dodge in a row reportedly has a trip mechanic attached. The result is sure to make Dying Light 2's combat feel frenzied and difficult, but there can be beneficial side effects to letting Aiden get swept off his feet. It appears that tripping lowers Aiden's hitbox, meaning that under some circumstances, it might be a good idea to keep Aiden on the ground--at least until players can get some good combat skills.
