Encanto co-directors Byron Howard and Jared Bush have given an explanation of Mirabel Madrigal’s lowest moment. Central to the film was the relationship, and conflict, between Mirabel and her grandmother, Abuela Alma Madrigal, as they both attempt to fix the family’s problems in very different ways.
