A behind-the-scenes detail from Disney's Encanto makes Bruno's disappearance much worse, and it all has to do with Abuela Alma. In Encanto, the Madrigal family members get magical gifts, though Bruno's (John Leguizamo) power could seem more like a curse. Of all the family members, Bruno is the only one with the ability to see the future, and it often comes back to bite him. People have grown to know Bruno's visions bring doom and gloom. And after he goes missing, the stories about Bruno become even worse, with Camilo (Rhenzy Feliz) essentially describing him as a monster.
Bruno decided to disappear after having a strange vision about his niece Mirabel (Stephanie Beatriz). When Mirabel didn't receive her powers, Abuela Alma (Maria Cecilia Botero and Olga Merediz) asked Bruno to have a vision. He saw Mirabel standing in front of the Madrigals' magical house, but the structure was cracking. Bruno wanted to protect Mirabel, so he took off, knowing no one would ever see the vision. Since Bruno's disappearance, the family learned never to talk about him, though it's not entirely clear why.

After a fan asked which Madrigal discovered Bruno was gone, Bush revealed it was Alma. "My guess is that Abuela Alma realized it first, because she was waiting for him to have his vision," Bush said, adding, "When he didn’t return from his room, she probably went to check on him." The revelation makes Bruno Madrigal's disappearing act sadder. After
