To begin this quest, players must bring a Starshroom — a yellow, glowing fungus — to the NPC Khedive. Starshroom can be found in the Food section of the Inventory. If players are in possession of at least one, they will be able to speak to Khedive inquiring about the mushrooms. After speaking to Khedive, he will ask players to return with eight more.

The World Quest, “Chasm Spelunkers,” must be completed before initiating the «Mycological Investigation in The Chasm» quest in Genshin Impact.
