However, Musk’s reaction was thoroughly subtle and included just two emojis, opening a wave of speculation on what exactly he meant.
On X, Musk took the opportunity to likely take a dig at Apple based on the latest reaction, which comprised of just two emojis. The first one was the salute emoji, indicating that Musk is attempting to commend Apple for getting into this category or paying his respects to the technology giant’s now-canceled project.
The second emoji is a cigarette, which was likely being used to describe that Musk can take a breather now that Apple is no longer working on ‘Project Titan,’ or that he knew all along that it takes more than the trillion-dollar valuation of a company to make a self-driving vehicle that is completely electric.
In any case, most of Apple’s staff working on the autonomous car have been shifted to the artificial intelligence team, where they will probably be working on generative AI under executive John Giannandrea. It was also speculated that some of the workforce will be laid off, and since Musk has got wind of the news, he, or Tesla, may try to recruit the stragglers to work on future electric vehicles, allowing them to properly harness their talent.
