The development of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is proceeding smoothly, but we still don't know exactly when we will be able to return to The Lands Between.
In its summary of consolidated earnings results for the second quarter of the current fiscal year, FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa commented on the upcoming DLC, saying that development is proceeding smoothly but that a release date has yet to be announced, almost suggesting that the creator of the Dark Souls series has yet actually to decide on one. At this point, next month's The Game Awards will be the last opportunity of the year to announce an early 2024 release date for the expansion.
Kadokawa also commented on the latest game by the Elden Ring developer, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, saying that domestic sales started off strong and global sales are expected to grow in the second half of the year, hinting at how the game may not have sold as much as the company expected in the West.

I tried hard to find any faults in Elden Ring, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't find any outside of some technical issues that the developers could fix via patches. I firmly believe that perfection doesn't exist and that it is always possible to improve, but I really couldn't think of anything that Elden Ring could have done better.
